Although most of the land was lost due to postwar land reforms, various items believed to have connections with the Tokugawa family have remained in our household. This piece is said to be one of them.Today, plates and other crafts featuring the Tokugawa “Mitsuba Aoi” (three-leaf hollyhock) crest can still be found, but this is considered a particularly valuable item. The use of gold in the Mitsuba Aoi crest is especially rare.
